God is the creator of the universe. There is only one living and true God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, Acts 5:3-4, 1 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Titus 2:13, 1 Peter 1:2)
About Jesus Christ:
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He went to Heaven and will return again someday to bring his kingdom to fulfillment. (Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:22-23, John 1:1-14, John 14:3, John 17:5, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, Colossians 1:16, Hebrews 1:8, Hebrews 7:25, 1 Peter 2:24, Revelation 20)
About the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts to be used for the common good of others. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily. (John 16:7-13,14:16-17, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:12,3:16, 1 Corinthians 3:17, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 1:13,5:18)
About the Bible:
We believe that the Bible has been inspired by God. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct so that we accomplish God’s good deeds in the world. (Psalm 119:2, 2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 1:1-2, 2 Peter 1:3)
About Human Beings:
People have been made in the image of God and are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has amazing potential for good, all have been stained by attitudes and actions of disobedience called “sin”. Sin has separated us from God and causes many problems in our lives and in the world. (Genesis 1:26, Romans 5:12, Romans 3:10, 20, Ephesians 2:8-10, 1 Peter 1:3, Romans 8:16-17, John 10:29)
Salvation is God’s free gift to us that we must choose to accept. We can never make up for our sin or earn God’s favor through self improvement or by good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be rescued from sin’s penalty (death). Those trusting in Christ should turn from their sin, confess their faith, and be baptized in water as a testimony of their faith and salvation. (John 14:6, 1:12, 3:16, Romans 3:23, 6:23, Romans 5:1, 10:9-10, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 3:26, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5)
About the Church:
The church is the Body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue Christ's mission of reaching the lost, growing the saved, and helping them become mature followers of Christ.
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally united with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally united with Him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.
